Optimization of Micro-CAES and TES Systems for Trigeneration

Energy storage makes energy continuously available, programmable, and at power levels different from the original intensity. This study investigates feasibility of compressed-air (CAES) systems on a small scale. In addition to CAES systems, there are two TES (thermal storage) for recovery calories frigories. The micro-CAES + system is designed single-family residential building equipped with photovoltaic nominal 3 kW. optimized as potential alternative battery typical domestic system. multi-objective optimization analysis carried out modeFRONTIER software. Once best configuration identified, it compared electrochemical considering costs, durability, performance. efficiency (8.4%) almost one-tenth most efficient batteries market (70–90%). Its discharge times also extremely short. It shown that advantages offered by application mechanical accumulation scale mainly related exploitation thermal waste process estimated useful life currently market. studied proves be non-competitive because its minimal high cost.
